Student Ambassadors

Kay Amutike did her project at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham. She is now training to become a diagnostic radiographer.

Alex Pritchard completed her project in 2009 looking at the causes and identification of Coeliac disease. She is currently studying Biomedicine at the University of Sussex.

Laura Vickers completed her project in 2003 designing a new computer lab at Wolverhampton University. She is now a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harper Adams University.

Nicole Nayar worked with chimpanzees at Edinburgh Zoo in 2009.  She then studied Biological Sciences at Heriot-Watt University.

Emma Batchen

Emma Batchen undertook her project at LifeScan Scotland Ltd in 2009. She went on to study Medical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh.

Leon Chen's award winning engineering project was based at the University of Bath. He went on to do a Masters in Engineering Science at Oxford and was an Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance scholar.

Anna Ressel undertook research at the Chemistry Department of the University of Central Lancashire. She then studied Medicine and as a result of her experiences became particularly interested in working within Medical Research.

Kate Golding conducted a psychological experiment at a day centre run by the head injury charity Headway. After her degree in Psychology and Physiology at Oxford University she went on to work in a psychiatric hospital.

Lydia Arnold's project was based at a Laser Lab within Salford University. She then studied Medicine at the University of Manchester.

Holly Batchelor's award-winning project investigated cosmic rain. She went on to study Physics at the University of St Andrews.

David Bendell studied Geology at Exeter University. His placement was based at the Kent and Sussex Hospital in Tunbridge Wells.

Mary McGeown's project investigating the processing of prawn shell waste won several awards. She later studied dentistry at Trinity College, Dublin.

Gurjit Singh Sidhu worked on radiotherapy treatment in the Radiotherapy Department at Ninewells Hospital. He went on to study Aero Mechanical Engineering.
