Environmental surveys

This lesson sequence is designed to exemplify an approach to practical work which makes strong links with careers that use related scientific skills and techniques.

These lessons take a less familiar ‘spin’ on a school field survey by providing a careers-related context with a real question to answer. Follow-up work based around careers in environmental science further emphasises that the context of this work is different. The video shows students that the techniques they use in school are genuinely similar to the techniques used by practising scientists.
