Calling all young film-makers!
Box Office Bioethics is the Nuffield Council on Bioethics’ film competition. Its aim is to get young people making short films about contemporary bioethics issues.
Who is eligible to enter?
The competition is open to individuals or groups of students in the UK and Republic of Ireland. It may be of particular interest for students working towards an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). There are three student categories:
- Year 11 and under
- Years 12 & 13
- Undergraduate
What should the films be about?
Films can be about any bioethics topic, providing that it falls within the biological and medical sciences and the ethical dimensions of the issue are clearly presented and explored. (You can find out more about eligibility by reading the competition rules and FAQs on the Nuffield Council on Bioethics website).
What if you have never made a film before?
For a bit of inspiration, watch last year’s winning films and runners up and see how they tackled the challenge.
