At a time of heightened concern over teacher supply and school accountability, this seminar brought together researchers, policy makers and sector leaders to examine the evidence explaining the current teacher workforce challenge.
The seminar featured presentations of projects funded by the Nuffield Foundation covering trends in teacher pay, shortages in subjects and by geography, teacher workload and well-being, the experience of Ofsted inspections, the pandemic’s legacy and the impact of academisation, spanning many of the topics currently being investigated by the Education Select Committee.
