This webinar brought together and reflected on the findings from three key research projects the Nuffield Foundation has funded on well-being, people and place. These projects have been working closely together to explore whether individuals’ well-being is shaped by immigration and diversity and how places, in turn, may affect well-being.
At the event we heard from:
- Immigration and well-being, Professor Peter Howley, University of Leeds and and Dr Mirko Moro, University of Stirling
- The impact of ethnic diversity on well-being and health, Dr Miguel Ramos, University of Birmingham
- Investigating people-place effects in the UK using linked longitudinal survey and administrative data, Dr Gundi Knies, University of Essex and Professor Patricia Melo, Lisbon School of Economics and Management
Chaired by Raj Patel, University of Essex, this webinar focused on the concrete steps and well-being policies for integration, diversity and better neighbourhoods. Responding and reflecting on the findings of these projects were Professor Maria Sobolweska (University of Manchester), Professor Danny Blanchflower (Dartmouth College) and Heather Rolfe (British Future).
This event is part of a series that brings together three Nuffield Foundation projects working closely together to better understand the drivers of individuals’ well-being.
