Nuffield Foundation is seeking a website development agency

By Nuffield Foundation

The Nuffield Foundation is seeking a website development agency to enhance our site for our upcoming five-year strategy launch.

The Nuffield Foundation is looking to onboard a website development agency to help us deliver a series of website optimisations to resolve user challenges and align our website with our new strategy.

Since 2023, we have been preparing our next five-year strategy, which will launch in 2025. The new strategy will provide a framework to guide further website development to reflect our growth as an organisation, improve the site’s structure and align it more closely with our organisational goals.

Please note this is a short summary of our requirements. A fuller, detailed Request for Proposals is available on request for agencies who are interested in submitting responses. Contact digital@nuffieldfoundation.org for the full brief.

Scope of work

Last year, we identified several elements of the website that we would like to change to improve the UX and UI. Drawing on these, we have built a website optimisation programme that will look at the following:

  1. user journey
  2. interface
  3. functionality
  4. navigation
  5. design

This work will be spread over the next two/two-and-a-half years. We are not looking to substantially redesign or build a new site but to optimise key areas in stages. Priorities will include:

  • Evaluating and optimising audience mapping and user journeys.
  • Enhancing touchpoint interactions and site exploration.
  • Restructuring site architecture, navigation, and information hierarchy
  • Seamlessly connecting CMS and CRM systems.
  • Developing user-friendly forms/resources reflecting our brand identity.
  • Redesigning key pages and enhancing navigation tools

The full brief, provided on request, lays out in detail the background, objectives, submission criteria and scoring sheet for proposals.

Additional project

We are also likely to require the creation of a microsite for a major project, featuring dynamic data stories, long-form narratives, and audiovisual content. Ongoing maintenance is needed. Agencies should indicate their capability to handle this alongside their experience with similar projects. This microsite will need to be delivered by the end of this year/start of next year.

We improve people’s lives by funding research that informs social policy, primarily in Education, Welfare and Justice. We also fund student programmes that give young people skills and confidence in science and research.

We offer our grant-holders the freedom to frame questions and enable new thinking. Our research must stand up to rigorous academic scrutiny, but we understand that to be successful in effecting change, it also needs to be relevant to people’s experience.
