Dr Ann Hagell
The Changing Adolescence Programme was led by Dr Ann Hagell. Ann is a Chartered Psychologist with a specific interest in adolescence. She studied for her PhD at The Institute of Psychiatry and was a Fulbright Scholar in the USA. She also has a masters in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Ann worked for five years at the Policy Studies Institute and after that, co-founded the Policy Research Bureau, an independent research institute specialising in work on young children, young people and families. As well as overseeing the CAP programme, she is currently Co-Development Manager (maternity leave cover) at the Association for Young People’s Health.
Ann has authored or co-authored approximately 60 articles, chapters and reports on adolescence and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Adolescence. She is also professional adviser to the Research in Practice Partnership Board, a Trustee of the Prison Reform Trust, and an ad-hoc reviewer for a range of journals and funders in the field.
